The fallout happened almost three years ago.
That's when I left my real home.
I travelled north to the land of the cold,
And left my heart in San Diego.
I got a job to get by,
And honed my craft night after night,
But emptiness grew inside.
I'm not about to waste away my life.

I know my conviction can wear you out,

Now I write songs that I can tolerate.
I try to let go, but my conscience gets in the way.
